About Us

The purpose of Girlguiding is to make new friends, enjoy new activities and to work together as a unit.
Home About Us

In West Moors, there are Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers which are all part of Girlguiding.

The Guide Hall was officially opened by Mr D.J Richards and was dedicated to the service of guiding by the Rev. Sivyour on 2nd December 1989. For more information that includes the history of Girlguiding, go to Girlguiding UK.

All girls are welcome to join.

All sections follow a similar programme building on skills as they move from Rainbows all the way
up to Rangers. There is an opportunity to gain a Gold award in each section.

Some of the theme areas are based around:

  • Skills for the future
  • Keeping well
  • Adventures

There are also a few Young Leaders as well in West Moors which help out with Guide Leaders and Guides, Brownies or Rainbows and organise meetings. They can work on a Leadership qualification to become a Guide, a Brownie or a Rainbow Leader once they turn 18.
